V. Marie Cross V. Marie Cross, 95 of Atlanta, Michigan passed away suddenly Monday, April 30, 2007 at her residence. Marie was born December 21, 1911 in Atlanta and was a life resident of Atlanta. She was a schoolteacher in Lewiston and Atlanta. She graduated from County Normal and after working more than 20 years as deputy county treasurer in Montmorency County she returned to Central Michigan to graduate and returned to teaching. Marie was an active member of the Atlanta Congregational Church and a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star Atlanta Chapter #487; she was also active with the Friends of the Library and Outreach Hospice Marie was preceded in death by her husband Ralph and her sister Alice Tripp. She is survived by her daughter Lynda Utt, grandsons Dave (Vicki Schroeder) Utt both of Atlanta, and Ron (Lisa) Utt of Weidman, MI and granddaughter Sandra (Scott) Amble of Brimley, MI, 5 grandchildren, brothers Oral (Sis) McMurphy, Ervin (Eileen) McMurphy, Jack (Cena) McMurphy all of Atlanta and Doug (Cleo) McMurphy of West Branch, MI and sisters Hazel (Bud) Teets of Atlanta and Gladys Meston of South Haven, MI At her request cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 4, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Green Funeral Home Rev Dr. H Robert Case officiating. Burial will be in Avery Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8:00 PM Thursday. Memorials are suggested to the Atlanta Congregational Church
