Viola Ostrander

Viola Mae Ostrander Mrs. Viola Mae Ostrander, 67, of Atlanta, MI, died on Friday, July 24, 2015 at her home. She was born on February 14, 1948 to Robert and June (Heliker) Pratt in Novi, MI. Viola enjoyed being a home maker and raising her children. She loved to camp and cook, especially when she could make pizzas. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed time spent outside. She liked to crochet mittens and pot holders for family and friends. Above all else, she loved her time spent with her family.

Viola is survived by her husband, Melvin; children, Julie (Norman Benjamin) Ostrander of Atlanta, MI, Cathy (Patrick) O'Dell of Hillman, MI, Cindy (Carlos) Portillo of Atlanta, MI, Patricia (Marcos) Armendariz of Pontiac, MI, and Melvin Ostrander Jr of Florida; 17 grandchildren; half brother, Charles (Carmen) Pratt of Bay City, MI; and half sister, Sheila Pratt of Hazel Park, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and June; granddaughter, Aileen, great grandchild, Dulce; brothers, Robert and Steve; and sisters, Darlene France and Diane Brooks.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Pastor David Fisher officiating. Interment will take place at Briley Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Ostrander Family in care of Green Funeral Home, PO Box 201, Atlanta, MI 49709 to help with expenses.
