Alfred Weiland

Mr. Alfred Stewart Weiland, 67, of Hillman, passed away at his home on January 15, 2020.  He was born on September 25, 1952 to Alfred and Priscilla Jeanne (Stewart) Weiland in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan.  He married the former Donna Chabot on August 14, 1976 in Saint Clair Shores.  Fred has lived in Hillman for the past 43 years.  He worked as a carpenter for many years.  He enjoyed playing golf and watching sports on television.  He proudly coached his sons in both baseball and hockey, and loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports.  Above all else, Fred enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.  He will always be remembered as a loving husband, Dad, and Papa.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Donna of Hillman, Michigan;  sons, Jason (Kim) of Lachine, Michigan, and Jamie (Krista) of Hillman;  grandchildren, Gretchen, Aubrey, Robbie, and Grayson;  mother Jeanne Weiland of Hillman;  sister, Margaret Garavagalia of Hillman, nephew and God son, Johnny Garavagalia of Hillman, and mother in law, Shirley Chabot of Saint Clair Shores.  He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred;  grandparents, Alfred and Gretta Weiland and Maude and Jim Stewart; father in law, Ernest Chabot; and brother in law, John Garavagalia.

A celebration of life for Mr. Weiland will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Calvary Episcopal Church from 2:00-6:00 PM.  A family prayer service will take place following the public celebration.
