Arthur Oesch

Mr. Arthur Harold Oesch, 89 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on October 5, 2019. He was born in Keego Harbor, Michigan on January 27, 1930 to the late, Jacob and Caroline (Armbruster) Oesch. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy for four years. He married his wife, Jennavee (Dell) Oesch in Angola, Indiana on January 7, 1951 and together the couple celebrated 68 years of marriage before his passing. They have resided in Atlanta since 1970. Arthur began his career as a mechanic at Beaty Motor Sales and then went on to own and operate Oesch Excavating from 1960-1993 when son, Tom took over the business. He also was a member of the board of directors for PIE&G for 12 years, a trustee for 6 years for Big Rock Congregational Church and a member of New Beginnings Ministries in Hillman. Arthur raised quarter horses and top notch breeding stallions. He owned the second fastest horse named "Lucks Perfection" this side of the Mississippi. He raced horses as well and was part owner of the Mt. Pleasant Race Track. He also raised wild turkey and pheasants. Arthur was avid in hunting and took trips to Alaska, Canada, and all over the United States. He also enjoyed trips to Canada fishing and deep sea fishing in Florida. Arthur had many talents and many hobbies, but most importantly, he valued the time he spent with family and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennavee Oesch of Atlanta; son, David (Robyn) Oesch of White Lake; son, Thomas Oesch of Hillman; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Adrian, Kenyon, and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Norah, Elijah, Mia, and Lochlan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Caroline Oesch; brothers, Leonard and Charles; and sisters, Leona Wilson and Dorothy Garrison.

Funeral services for Mr. Oesch will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at New Beginnings Ministries, Hillman; Pastor Larry Kirby officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Thursday from 9:00 AM until time of service. Interment will take place at Avery Township Cemetery on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 10:00 AM
