July 10, 1929 — March 29, 2022

Atlanta

Mr. Francis Edwin “Ed” Boucher, 92 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at his home on March 29, 2022. He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on July 10, 1929 to the late, Joseph and Nina (Hubbard) Boucher. He married his wife, Darlene Boucher in 1947 and together the couple celebrated over 50 years of marriage before her passing in 1999. Ed graduated from Jackson High School in 1948. Together, Darlene and Ed had four children. Ed worked for East Jackson High School and attended all the sporting events his children participated in and could often be found working the concession stand and volunteering his help where it was needed. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Jackson after 35 years and moved to Atlanta. Even after his retirement, Ed continued to volunteer where he could. He volunteered at the Senior Center in Atlanta and was past president. He was an avid sports fan and a big supporter of the Michigan State Spartans. Ed also enjoyed hunting when he was able and he loved to travel to the Upper Peninsula, always with his black lab, Chester. Family was his number one priority, and he was very proud of the family he had. Every year they would take an annual camping trip to Clear Lake to spend time together. He leaves them with countless memories and an infinite amount of love.

Ed is survived by his children, Norman (Linda) Boucher; Donald (Linda) Boucher both of Union City, Tennessee; Brenda (Edward) Steil of Cheboygan; Ronald (Karen) Boucher of Jackson; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Mary Menard of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Nina Boucher; wife, Darlene; brother, Harold; sister, Marilyn Wrona; and great-grandson, Ethan Boucher.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Ed privately at this time with a celebration of life to take place this Summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed’s honor to Compassus Hospice, Atlanta or the Elk Country Animal Shelter, Atlanta.
