Mr. Harold "Webb" Webster Wood, 81 of Atlanta, Michigan died suddenly at his home on August 21, 2021 with his loving wife, Marion at his side. He was born on November 10, 1939 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late, Harold and Dora (Lare) Wood. He married Marion (Iwanicki) Wood on June 22, 1963 in Jackson and together the couple celebrated 58 years of marriage before his passing. Webb grew up in Walled Lake and then lived in Auburn Heights for five years, Clarkston for 28 years, and then permanently in Atlanta for the last 25 years after he retired. He and his wife Marion have been members of Canada Creek Ranch for the past 51 years. Webb graduated with a Bachelor's in Education from Eastern Michigan University in 1963 and then obtained his Master's degree from Saginaw Valley State University. He taught industrial arts and American history for the Utica Community School system for 33 years. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Onaway and a member of many organizations including; the NRA, and the Knife Makers Guild. Webb had numerous hobbies including hunting, fishing, and painting. Besides hunting and fishing in Northern Michigan he often traveled to Montana to trout fish and hunt for antelope and mule deer. He was a history buff of the American Civil War, having become interested when he learned that his great-grandfather had been a drummer for the 24th Michigan Regiment. He was also a collector of old books and old and new compasses. He grew up playing the trumpet and for a few years played in a German band which performed during the Bavarian Festival in Frankenmuth. Besides teaching, his second favorite activity was engraving guns and making custom knives from scratch. Many of his knives were also engraved. His knives have been sold across the United States and around the world. He was featured on several Michigan outdoor television shows and has had many articles about him and his knife work in national magazines. He has won several awards for his engraving and knife work.

Webb is survived by his loving wife, Marion Wood of Atlanta; sons, Tim (Kristine) Wood of Ortonville; Scott Webster Wood of Ypsilanti; and grandchildren, Mitchell Taylor Wood and Rebecca Lynn Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dora Wood.

There will be a celebration of life held in Webb's honor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Onaway in the early autumn. Webb will be laid to rest at the Hillman Rust Township Cemetery, Hillman.
