Leonard Campbell

Mr. Leonard Bruce Campbell, 63 of Johannesburg, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on March 20, 2021. He was born in Gaylord, Michigan on June 29, 1957 to Walter and Leona (Joslin) Campbell. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Leonard married his wife, Frances (Putnam) Campbell on June 14, 1977 and together they celebrated 43 of marriage before his passing. They have resided in Johannesburg since 1995 and in 1998 Leonard built their home in just one year. He was a member and trustee of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 202 in Grayling and an ordained Baptist preacher. He walked his life with the word of God and read his bible daily. He enjoyed to build, play solitaire, read Jack Reacher books, and most importantly, spend time with family. Leonard will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Campbell of Johannesburg; son, Martin Campbell of Johannesburg; granddaughter, Isabelle; sister, Lisa (Dan) Basel of Minnesota; brothers, Larry (Renee) Campbell of Johannesburg; Lane Campbell of Lewiston; Linc (Merisa) Campbell of Johannesburg; and father, Walter Campbell of Lewiston. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leona; and brother, Lyle.

A graveside service will take place for Leonard in the Spring where he will be laid to rest at Gingell Cemetery with Pastor Dan Basel and Pastor Joshua Putnam officiating.
