Lynn Biesenthal

Lynn Lois (Nuechterlein) Biesenthal, age 88 has taken over directing the “ultimate choir of angels” as of Monday, September 6,  2021.

She passed peacefully while living at McReynold’s Hall in Gaylord for the past four years where she was cared for and loved. She was raised in Detroit, where her father was a professional choir director, moved to New York for a short time and came back to graduate magna cum laude from Southeastern High school in Detroit. A short 2 weeks later she began and built her way up to executive secretary of professional relations at Blue Cross/ Blue Shield.

She met her soon to be husband Burt, at a wedding in November of 1954 and were married the following July of 1955. In 1961 after visiting the area of Lewiston- they found their dream cottage and purchased the cottage on Little Wolf Lake- where she still owns it.

They adopted two children – Jay in 1964 and Kaye in 1966 as infants from the Lutheran Child and Family Services in Detroit.  After vacationing for summers, they finally packed up in July of 1973 and moved to the lake.

She worked at the Huber Haus for several years and then ended her working career of being the Secretary for Albert Township.  She was always the first friendly face and voice of the community.

Her love was being the choir director at Bethlehem Lutheran Church for over 38 years, and of course she loved and adored her family and the small-town community.

Lynn is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Esther Nuechterlein , husband Burt, sister, Kay and brother, Gene (Shirley).

She is survived by brother Jim (Dot) Nuechterlein , son Jay (Dina) Biesenthal, daughter Kaye (Lee) Woodruff, grandsons Josh (Cameron), Daniel (Yari), and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 10th at Green’s Funeral Home with Pastor Paul of Trinity Lutheran, Gaylord and retired Rev. Glenn Sattelmeier, formerly of Bethlehem Lutheran, Lewiston officiating.
