Richard Jay Webber

February 10, 1936 ~ July 26, 2021 (age 85)


Mr. Richard Jay Webber, 85 of Johannesburg, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his children on July 26, 2021. He was born on February 10, 1936 in Johannesburg, Michigan to the late, Jay and Eva (Longcore) Webber. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Richard resided in Johannesburg all of his life and was a member of The Hope Church in Gaylord. He enjoyed driving, baseball, playing guitar, and hunting and fishing in his younger years. Richard will be missed greatly.

He is survived by his children, Doris (Tom) Spencer; Scott (Laura) Webber both of Johannesburg; Richard Webber of Indian River; Carl (Cathy Bullard) Webber of Iron Mountain; Dave (Amy Copenhaver) Webber of Gaylord; Matt (Lynn) Webber of Lewiston; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, June (Merle) Lloyd of Sears; Tom (Elaine) Webber of Parma Heights; Bill (Ila) Webber of Houghton Lake; and Jay (Diane) Webber of Johannesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Eva Webber; wife, Nancy Williams Webber; son, Timothy; brother, Jim; and sister, Jean.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held in celebration of Richard's life at noon on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at The Hope Church, Gaylord.
