Robert Green

Mr. Robert (Bob) Arthur Green, 76, of Lewiston, Michigan passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord on June 3, 2019. He was born in Port Huron, Michigan on June 30, 1942 to the late, Russell and Dorothy (Mitchell) Green. Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Green served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. Throughout his 22-year United States Army tenure, three bronze stars were awarded. He married his beloved wife, Judy Green, in Sterling Heights, Michigan on November 10, 1973. Together the couple celebrated 43 years of marriage before her passing in 2017.

Bob was a community supporter, especially for education. He worked as a substitute teacher predominately at Johannesburg-Lewiston Area Schools and Atlanta Community Schools until 1994. Bob also served as a member of the Johannesburg-Lewiston School Board and as a middle school track coach. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish with his family and friends. Bob enjoyed gardening and was an avid woodsman. Family was the foundation for Bob, and he is dearly missed.

Bob is survived by his children, Joseph (Stephanie) Dunn of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina; Jennifer Smith of San Tan Valley, Arizona; Jessica Rondeau of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; and grandchildren; Andrew, Austin, Jacob, Brady, and Pierce. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Dorothy Green; wife, Judy Green; son, James Dunn; sister, Marilyn Ransom; and brothers, Bill Green and Chuck Green.

There will be a graveside service for Bob Green at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery, Lewiston, Michigan; Father Al Pillarelli officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston, Michigan from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with military funeral honors at 8:00pm.
