Ronald Haas

Mr. Ronald Anthony Haas, 76 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City on September 14, 2019. He was born in Detroit on June 15, 1943 to the late, Anthony and Dorothy (Shumaker) Haas. On October 2, 1965 he married his wife, Beverly Haas and together the couple celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing. Formerly of Detroit, the couple has resided in Lewiston for the last 30+ years. Ron retired from the Detroit Fire Department as an engineer after 25 years. He owned and operated Lewiston True Value Hardware for 30 years and the Lewiston Laundromat for a few years when he first moved to the area. He enjoyed taking trips to Florida with family during spring breaks, watching the evening news, and he loved to watch his grandchildren play sports, especially basketball. He valued his time spent with his family and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Haas of Lewiston; son, Jeff Haas of Gaylord; daughter, Lori Haas of Lewiston; grandchildren, Alex, Darrian, Katelyn, Hailey, Ellen, and Gavin; great-grandchildren, Gage and Lazarus; brother, Gary (Karen) Haas of Royal Oak; and sister, Ruth (Ronald) Haberstroh of Clinton Township. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Dorothy Haas.

Funeral services will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Lewiston; Fr. Al Pillarelli officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lewiston DDA.
