Mr. William Edward Beswick Sr, 84 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord on January 6, 2022. He was born in Morrison, Illinois to the late, William and Hilda (Conrady) Beswick on October 3, 1937. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Ed resided in Atlanta since 2014. He was a member of the Atlanta Congregational United Church of Christ. Ed was a board member for the Montmorency County Commission on Aging and was also a member of the American Legion, Atlanta Senior Center, Atlanta Eagles, and the Montmorency County Chamber of Commerce. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge joining in 1971 in California. While being a member of the Moose he earned the title Governor and also received his Pilgrim Degree. In his younger years, he enjoyed to golf.

Ed is survived by his children, Joseph (Dawn) Beswick of Atlanta; Christopher Beswick of Hillman; Bill (Melody) Beswick of Millersburg; stepdaughter, Betty Spangler of Illinois; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Dick) Beswick; Dorothy Rosenow both of Morrison, IL; and Marjorie (Sam) Woodruff of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hilda Beswick; wife, Catherine; and brothers, Robert (Rita) Beswick; Herb (Irene) Beswick; sister-in-law, Grace; and brother-in-law, Don Rosenow.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service held in celebration of Ed’s life at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Atlanta Congregational United Church of Christ. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until time of service.
