Mary Evelyn Green
Mary Evelyn Green, 88, of Gaylord, passed away on June 23, 2009 at her residence. She was born on June 1, 1921 to Henry and Clara (Herb) Hompstead in Alpena, MI. She married Donald Green on November 3, 1938 in Alpena, MI, celebrating 70 yrs of marriage last year. She has lived in Gaylord since 1985, formerly of Warren, MI. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hazel Park, MI, teaching Sunday school there for years. She worked as an LPN at the fomer Martin Place Hospital in Madison Heights, MI. Mary was an avid reader and loved to travel.

Mary is survived by her husband, Donald of Gaylord, MI; sons, Richard (Ursula) of Newport News, VA, Dennis of Hazel Park, MI, and Matt (Nancy) of Flower Mound, TX; 6 grandchidren; 2 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Hall of Imlay City, MI, and Lavora (Gene) Dubey of Clinton Twp, MI.

As were her wishes, Mrs Green was cremated and a family interment took place on Saturday, June 27, 2009.
